Terracotta Mold on Stand

This hand thrown pottery mold becomes a sculptural piece to be noticed when museum mounted and then grouped with more one- of-a-kind objects. From a Guatemalan family of potters that made and used this mold to create important cooking vessels. The incised markings are the family symbol that would transfer to the bottom of the cooking vessel.
